Forced Induction: Turbochargers, Superchargers, and Nitrous Oxide

Removing and replacing parts like intake and exhaust systems will only take you so high up on the performance ladder. To really kick your ride into high gear, you may want to consider adding forced induction in the form of nitrous oxide, a turbocharger, or a supercharger.

Nitrous systems increase the amount of explosive oxygen in your air/fuel mixture by injecting nitrous oxide into your engine. Turbochargers and superchargers increase the pressure in your vehicle's intake manifold, thus providing even more of the explosive charge that sends your car or truck rocketing down the road. For those with a serious need for speed and hot-rodders, forced induction is the only way to go.
